New Contender For Battle Royale Crown

Respawn. My god, what have you done? Do you have any idea the box you just opened up? Unless you live under a rock, you’ve probably heard of Respawn’s new game, Apex Legends. The game is dong insanely good so far, it being free to play doesnt hurt, but it’s not just its price tags that has fans of battle royale playing. The game is brilliant. I love how familiar the game is to everything else on the market (Blackout, Fortnite, PUBG), yet at the same time it’s completely different. Its taken the aspects we love of the battle royale formula, applied some of the smoothest gunplay out there (this is Respawn after all, and sprinkled some Overwatch on top.

The different characters and their abilities just adds an extra layer of customization and playability to your standard run and gun gameplay. Just as the building aspect of Fortnite might be what has garnered the game so much attention over its contemporaries, the Legends and their uniqueness is what draws me and many other to this game. I do want to get some more playtime with the game before doing a more in depth critique of it. From what I’ve seen though, this game is definitely worth the time to download, and if you haven’t tried it yet, you owe it to yourself to check it out.

Obviously only being three days out from the games launch it might be a tad bit early to crown this game, but the fun I get from Apex Legends is the same feeling I got when I first played PUBG and Blackout. Whether or not the title can stand the test of time is a question for a much later time. But for now? There is a new contender in the battle royale space, and its name is Apex Legends.

Saturday Night at Naka-Kon

Yosh! Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful time, but don’t forget to be responsible as well as safe! Today has been a blast as it always is at Naka-Kon, filled with great people and amazing cosplay. It’s simply an all out enjoyable experience. The day started out fun, and with awesome panels to attend throughout the day, and it never let up. The standout panel for today was the Anime Name That Tune. I’ve attended these sorts of panels in the past and this one was actually crazy fun! The music choices were excellent and appealing to a wide age and demographic. Over the years of attending Naka, one thing remains consistent throughout, and that is the amazing attendees. You can have all the celebrity guests and musical acts you want, but without the people it’s an empty gesture.

I’m actually typing this at the Saturday night dance party, and it just as hype as you’d expect an anime convention late night party to be. No. scratch that. This place is jumping! Musical guest KABUKI opened up the show and are tearing it up. Check out our Gaming Plus Podcast on YouTube for pictures from this weekend as well as an in-depth look at this years con. We will also be uploading updates and pictures to our Facebook and Twitter as well. Don’t Forget to Like, Follow, and Subscribe! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Top Five Fights From the Naruto Series

Over the last 15 years the Naruto series has given us some of the most memorable battles in all of anime to enjoy. As the years went on the scale and scope of these battles increased, and we were given more powerful jutsu and larger stakes. Out of all the battles that have taken place throughout the series what were your favorites? I know its hard to choose, but here our my picks for the top 5 fights in the Naruto series!

#5 Rock Lee vs Gaara

For me, this was the match that set the bar for the rest of the show. Not until this point in the series had we had such a high intensity fight, and what made it so much better was how much of an underdog Rock Lee was entering this match. This not only showcased how dangerous and ruthless Gaara was, but also how bad ass Lee is. The green spandex and bravado are not just for show, Rock Lee is the real deal.
